Abstract

A simple model is proposed for the mean crustal structure
of the eastern Mediterranean. According to this model, which fits the available seismic data, the crust of the eastern Mediterranean consists of five layers of 21 km total thickness and the velocity of the longitudinal waves varies between 2.2 and (i.O km/sec in this crust.
