Abstract
Tlie two fault planes furnished by the fault plane solutions
of earthquakes of the Rat Islands sequence were treated like the
conjugate fault planes of geological surface faults, and an isallo stress analysis
was made thereon. It is shown that the latter yields results which are
in conformity with data from other sources. A discussion of the tectonic
stress system in the Rat Islands region of Alaska is given.
