Abstract
E noto clie le onde magneto-idrodinamiche hanno una notevoleimportanza in questioni di fisica cosmica in generale e di geofisica inparticolare.La possibile esistenza di tali onde fu posta in evidenza da II. Alfvénnel 1942. In seguito vari autori hanno condotto ricerche sulla propagazionedelle onde magneto-idrodinamiche, anche nel tentativo di renderemeno restrittive le ipotesi fondamentali su cui si basa la teoria diAlfvén.Non sembra peraltro che sia stata prestata una sufficiente attenzioneal fatto che le onde magneto-idrodinamiche presentano il fenomenodella dispersione anomala.Questa nota ha lo scopo di mettere in evidenza l'andamento diquesto fenomeno, il quale potrebbe avere, in qualche caso, un certointeresse.Nessun cambiamento è stato apportato alle ipotesi fondamentalidella teoria di Alfvén. È stata soltanto riveduta la trattazione formaleper renderla più semplice e rigorosa.
