The female figure in 19th century scientific correspondence

Abstract


The scientific correspondence are in the archives of astronomic and meteorological observatories and in many

scientific institutes is very useful to know the character of the people involved, to understand the development

of their research, doubts and certainty during their careers. This correspondence sometimes contains intimate

family detils which enhance our knowledge of these people.
