Abstract

Polarization properties of seismic surface waves have been used for
the identification and interpretation of small seismic events. In the
present method of polarization filtering, generally elliptically polarizing
noise is discriminated against specially polarizing surface waves. Statistically random nature of noise is taken into account in the determination of filter weights.
